FDA Takes Additional Action to Harness Real-World Data to Inform COVID-19 Response Efforts

FDAThe U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken an additional step in harnessing real-world data to help inform the agency’s overall response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. The FDA is announcing its participation in the COVID-19 Diagnostics Evidence Accelerator, a multi-stakeholder collaborative project to advance the development of diagnostics. The Diagnostics Evidence Accelerator is organized by the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the FDA in collaboration with Friends of Cancer Research.

OK, why should we trust the federal government again? Distrust anything with “collaborative” or “Foundation” in its name (with apologies to The Gipper who’s having his name used for political purposes).

I read a bunch of politico speak. Who trusts an FDA that lets food and other products in from other countries that aren’t regulated as the same product here in the US? I for one, do not. And many other US citizens feel the same.
