Lindsey Graham: ‘Be Wary’ Of ‘Spin’ From WaPo, NYT Ahead Of Trump-Russia Report

Lindsey Graham spin Trump russiaSen. Lindsey Graham urged caution Monday about Washington Post and New York Times reports regarding an alleged rift between Attorney General William Barr and Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz over the findings of an investigation into the FBI’s handling of the Trump-Russia probe.

“Be wary of The Washington Post and New York Times reporting on what’s coming up with Horowitz. They’ve been trying overtime to spin this thing, to diminish its effect, to downplay it,” Graham said in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

Graham, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was responding to reports from the two newspapers that Barr has privately disagreed with a key finding in a report that Horowitz will release next week regarding FBI surveillance of the Trump campaign.

According to The Post and Times, Barr disagrees with Horowitz’s finding that the FBI had a legal basis for opening the Trump-Russia investigation in July 2016.

The Justice Department released a statement following the reports downplaying any rift between Barr and Horowitz. Graham also said that Barr “has every confidence” in Horowitz.

“I can tell you without any hesitation Attorney General Barr has every confidence in the world in Mr. Horowitz. He believes he’s done a good job, a professional job,” said Graham.

Horowitz will release his report on Dec. 9, and will testify before Graham’s committee on Dec. 11.

The investigation has centered on whether the FBI properly and legally conducted the investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government. A key focus of the probe has been the FBI’s applications for surveillance warrants against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. FBI investigators relied on the unverified Steele dossier to argue in the warrant applications that there was probable cause to believe that Page was acting as a Russian agent.

The special counsel’s report undercut that theory by saying that prosecutors found no evidence that any Trump associates were working on behalf of Russia. The special counsel’s report also undercut the dossier’s core allegation of a “well-developed conspiracy of coordination” between the Trump campaign and Russia.

50 years ago, the News Media was the “champions of truth” here in America.

Now, the News Media has become the “champions of lies”, attempting to destroy those things that America stands for. Now they are 2 bit “investigators”, fake “experts”, “spin artists”, “editorialist“, and “liberal agenda promoters” !

No honesty required !

The slanted news and outright lies by The NY Times, WAPO, and NBC news reflects on a populace where many have been brainwashed by educators that they should believe ANYTHING said by the liberal press. The message to them is “don’t sustain brain damage trying to figure this out” – just believe what you are told.

Turn off the liberal media / Democrats propaganda. If we tune them out they will either fail or have to start reporting honestly. Although Fox News has it’s share of opinion shows the actual news reporting is always honest and gives all conflicting sides a chance to speak.
News reporting has become seriously slanted to the left and if you don’t agree with them some how you become a racist.

Why do Americans put up with outright lies from journalists?

These news reporters are traitors to America. More interest in being a legend in their own minds than they truth. The democrats with all their lies and accusations have cost american taxpayers an absolute fortune. Impeach? Yes but not President Trump. Pelosi and Schiff for starters. Clean the swamp and it’s obviously packed!

It looks that you only took 15 seconds to write this stupid response below…..Is this all you had to say? If I were you and anyone else who reads these terrible newspapers I would discontinue them and I would advise all sane Americans to do the same. These two papers have become a disgrace to their original founders and they are no longer worth to even be used for toilet paper. All their stories are showing their biases…..I would not spent 8 cents on one of them.

In the early 1990’s, I read in the San Diego Union, that 70% of high school students admitted to cheating on tests. These are the people who have many positions in this country, including journalists. Lying doesn’t have to be big to still be a lie. Stealing even a pencil is still stealing. All these things are against the 10 commandments, and if someone has a problem controlling them, they need to have a talk with Christ Jesus about saving them. If they’re sincere, He’ll help them come to a better life.

The New York Times and Washington Post have developed serial lying into an art form. One of their sneakiest forms of lying is to exaggerate a subtle talking point into becoming a major political or ethical conflict. Since many readers are too lazy and apathetic to closely read and/or research opposing views, the propaganda becomes the gospel truth. Alexander Pope’s “A Little Learning is a Dangerous Thing” sadly describes the thinking skills of many leftists, progressives, socialists, and communists!

WaPo and the New York Crimes really missed their calling, they should not even pretend to be in the news business for which they lack all comprehension, they should be in marketing and advertising. For the last three years they have tirelessly attempted to hype one Nada Enchilada after another into a Snowflake Fiesta. The New York Times should consider changing its motto from “all the news that’s fit to print” to “all the news that’s baseless lint.” In today’s world neither one of these waste-papers have anymore application, even the Soviet Pravda had more purpose because due to a… Read more »

Wake up USA patriotic citizens and don’t listen to what the idiots in journalism are saying to you; they’re lying to you. Think for yourself, listen to yourself, and listen to the things they AREN’t saying to you. They believe that we believe anything that comes out of their mouths. I know I certainly don’t, and I don’t listen to them. I only wish that our forefathers could come back and see the mucked up mess that exists in Washington DC. What do you personally think they would say? President Donald Trump is trying to clean up the mess in… Read more »

Used to be that newspapers were very reliable and trustworthy. Sadly, this is not true today. The bullies want their way and are trying to get their way. They can just leave the USA if this is how they feel!!!

Sen. Lindsey Graham has pointed out what most of us already know and that is that the L-A-M-E-S-T-R-E-A-M M-E-D-I-A is at it again, and again, and again … ad nauseum. Professional journalism at these media Masters of Muck is nonexistent. Too bad we are far removed from yesteryear out West where we could simply call them out at high noon on the main street of town and do a Marshal Dillon on them.

It’s difficult to understand why the press and even so many average citizens are so obsessed with justification of the deep state activities rather than rooting it out.

The New York Times and Washington Post reminds me of the yellow journalism so prevalent in the late 1800s. Fast forward to the present, and they ONLY deserve next to the rags a person sees in the racks at the check out line. I am 72, and remember a time when both the print and visual media actually reported the truth. I noticed the change when I was serving my country as a soldier in Vietnam. Very, very sad for America.

Don’t take anything any of them say that involves politics. You can add the Tampa Bay Times to that list.
