Trump Is Still The Kingmaker

AMAC Exclusive

trump

All eyes were on Ohio’s 15th Congressional District on Tuesday night for one reason: to see whether President Trump is still the undisputed kingmaker of the Republican Party. Just a few hours after voting ended, that question was answered with a resounding “yes.” In a crowded 11-person field, Trump-backed businessman Mike Carey, whom Trump held an event for in Lorain County earlier this summer which he labeled “the very first rally of the 2022 election,” won a 23-point blowout primary victory, apparently putting to rest predictions that the former President’s political clout has waned since leaving office.

When Rep. Steve Stivers made the surprise announcement this April that he would retire from the Congressional seat he had held for more than a decade, a huge field of Republicans emerged to replace him. Central Ohio’s 15th Congressional District has a long history of sending Republicans to Washington, and this special election would likely be no different. Whichever candidate emerged victorious in the primary would, in all likelihood, have the opportunity to serve in a safe seat for many years to come.

Although the Republican Primary field grew to 11 candidates, the race truly came down to two – businessman Mike Carey and state Rep. Jeff LaRe. Carey, an Army veteran and successful energy executive, had the coveted endorsement of President Trump. LaRe, a current state Representative for Ohio’s 77th House District, was handpicked and endorsed by Rep. Stivers to replace him. This Buckeye State special election quickly came down to a test of whether the Republican voters in Ohio’s 15th Congressional District would follow Trump or Stivers. It was a microcosm of the dynamic that many political observers believe will define Republican primaries ahead of the 2022 midterms.

This storyline was not lost on the mainstream media, who were determined to cast anything short of a dominant Carey victory as a crushing defeat for President Trump and his political future. Journalists and Never-Trump critics alike had just rejoiced the previous week at the results of the recent runoff election for Texas’ 6th Congressional District. In that race, Texas State Representative Jake Ellzey won the special election over Trump-backed Susan Wright.

However, much of the media conveniently ignored the complexities of that race which actually undercut their desired narrative. The July 27th runoff pitted two pro-Trump Republicans against one another after Democrats failed to get a candidate into the run-off in an open primary in April. In that vote, President Trump’s endorsed candidate, Republican Susan Wright, finished in first with 19.2 percent of the vote, while fellow Republican Jake Ellzey finished in second place with 13.8 percent of the vote. The Texas Democratic Party, which has clung to closer statewide elections in recent years as a sign of changing political tides, was left with a giant black eye after their third-place candidate, Democrat Jana Lynne Sanchez, was locked out of the runoff.

Any fair-minded reporter or political observer would surely point out that the July 27th runoff in Texas’s 6th Congressional District was a win-win for Republicans no matter what. And those same reporters and observers would be remiss not to point out that in a low-turnout election between two Republican candidates, enough Democrat voters could turn out and hold their noses to vote for Ellzey in order to spite President Trump and his endorsed candidate, which appears to be exactly what took place.

Nevertheless, the media advanced a dishonest narrative throughout the past week claiming that President Trump’s standing in the Republican Party was weakened by the results.

That narrative was utterly crushed Tuesday night with Mike Carey’s impressive victory, as the candidate himself was eager to point out. “Tonight, Republicans across Ohio’s 15th Congressional District sent a clear message to the nation that President Donald J. Trump is, without a doubt, the leader of our party,” Carey said in a tweet following his victory. “I could not be more grateful for his support, and I am proud to deliver this win to advance his America First agenda.”

Carey clearly recognizes that if he wins on November 2, when he faces Democrat state Rep. Allison Russo in a special general election, he will have President Trump to thank.

The former president aggressively flexed his political muscles in this primary, and it paid off for Mike Carey. Following the rally in Lorain County, President Trump released multiple statements declaring that only Carey had received his endorsement after other competitors in the race repeatedly tried to tie themselves to him. To further secure a Carey victory, the Trump affiliated Super PAC, Make America Great Again Action, Inc., spent more than $300,000 on the race in the final weeks on text messages, digital, and TV ads. But President Trump was taking nothing for granted as he held a second tele-rally for Mike Carey on the night before Election Day.

After the triumph for his candidate on Tuesday night, Trump released a statement to his now quiet detractors regarding his political clout. “One of the biggest stories in the Lamestream Media yesterday was the very important Congressional race in Ohio and whether or not Trump-backed candidate, Mike Carey, would lose against a large and outstanding field of other candidates. The mainstream was chomping at the bit to report a loss for a Trump endorsed candidate—they couldn’t wait,” President Trump said. “But lo and behold, instead of a loss, there was a landslide victory for Mike—a win far larger than even the most optimistic of polls.”

As this week proved, Donald Trump is still the undisputed kingmaker of the Republican Party.

Face it folks: Democrats are winning whether we like it or not (I personally don’t like it). And former President Trump has made a lot of mistakes during his one-term Presidency.

I personally like Trump and his charisma but I cannot overlook his many negative traits either. I am a right-leaning moderate and I think we need to pivot away from Trump. He can still be doing rallies and things like that but if he runs again, Democrats will continue to win.

Ron DeSantis is a much better alternative to Trump, I think. DeSantis actually speaks coherently and does not lie and over-exaggerate. He is a younger, better looking, more charismatic and – most importantly – a MUCH SMARTER version of Trump. I voted for Trump in 2020 but it was more because I wanted to vote against Biden; if Trump is the Republican Candidate in 2024 I will be staying home. And I live in a swing state by the way and most of my friends are moderates. The right-leaning moderates will not support Trump and the left-leaning ones will most likely support Biden. So there, have a good day.

Definitely staying home. I and my friends begrudgingly voted for Trump in 2020 but with the Jan 6 stigma attached to him on the top of everything else, I see no way of ever voting for Trump. In fact, I am a bit ashamed to have voted for the man in the first place. I am never voting Democrat but I sure as hell will never, ever vote for Trump again. And if DeSantis joins Trump, it will, most likely, sink his political career too.

Like it or not, there are more of us moderates than you think. Y’all on the far right live in an ever-shrinking bubble it seems. There are what I like to call ourselves Reasonable Republicans who can’t stand y’all’s idol worshiping. Go with Trump and he will sink the Republican party more. Trump can still have a role in campaigning and endorsing some representatives and senators but if he runs in 24, it will be bad for the Republicans overall. I can’t see him in the White House ever again. At any rate, I will not vote for him and neither will my friends I think.

REALLY?!!! Well, that shows just who you are… loud and clear. It has been proven time and again that Trump had nothing to do with events of Jan 6. That was orcastrated by the demonrats, Antifa, BLM, to make Trump and Trump followers the bad guys. The fact that you’re a wishy washy person with no backbone is sad. Trump did so much for our country inspire of the vipers and the viper pit where he found himself. You or the average person could never have withstood that as long as he and his family did for us…he didn’t need to do what he did and without pay. And you turn your back on him in favor of the lying, corrupt, anti American shit show now in the office of president/vice president along with marionette master behind the scenes. So in essences you are a RHINO. Glad you weeded yourself out.

Did you vote for Trump in 2016? No matter, you did the right thing in 2020 & very soon your man will be back in the WH…That day is closer than the many doubting Thomas’s’ realize…

No, Sir, I did not vote for Trump back in 2016 – I was not a US Citizen then. In 2020, I voted for Trump reluctantly. I never considered him a great leader – he made a lot of stupid mistakes during his Presidency (especially in 2020) which is why I am not surprised that he lost the election. Even though I do not like Biden, I can see why more people did not like Trump. Much like I voted for Trump as an opposition vote to Biden (here it was more against the Biden agenda rather than Biden the man), a lot of people I know voted for Biden just to oppose Trump (and here Trump’s persona was a major factor).

Now, all of that being said, I cannot see Trump going back to the White House – he will not be reinstated, there is no way. If he runs in 2024, I will not vote for him again and most of the fellow moderates I know won’t either. This is why it will be better for Trump to retire, and instead support a more sensible Republican (like DeSantis as an example). If Trump runs again, I can see him win the Republican nomination but I don’t think he will win the Presidency again – you can’t get it done with under 40% support.

I am sincerely hoping that the Republicans smarten up. They have been doing a lot of stupid shit that has been alienating the moderates. Granted, nowadays the Democrats are in power and they are doing a lot of stupid stuff as well, but they have the media covering for them while the Republicans do not have that luxury. So Republicans must get smart and in touch with the times. Have a good day.

I am a proud British citizen living and working in the US – and contributing to your economy by providing hi-tech, well-paid, jobs for American citizens. I know the US well, and I cannot understand how you were all so easily duped by the immoral, irreligious, intellectually challenged, and frankly criminal fool who became your 45th president.

History will show that Trump ranks as the worst holder of that office since The American Revolution. In four short years he destoyed your standing in the world, wrecked your economy, poisoned community relations, and ensured that the GOP will never hold high office again. Every functioning democracy needs a functioning opposition, well thanks to this posturing pseudo-Mussolini, political life in the US is damaged for decades to come.

When Trump was rightly driven from office, along with his family of co-conspirators, the whole world beyond your shores breathed a collective sigh of relief. “Lion of the Republic”? I do not think so. For the sake of all real Americans who are my dear friends I sincerely yearn for the day when Trump disappears forever into well deserved obscurity.

If our people are starving, unable to work, paying more than our share of the worlds expenses to exist. I don’t give a dam what the world thinks of us!!! They didn’t like us when we defeated Hitler either. You and the rest of your ilk are jealous that you didn’t have the muscle, determination, character and intelligence to stop such an atrocity. Jealousy never won or accomplished anything. Trump was brash, when he started his term and the swamp attempted to mislead him on every turn and yet he outsmarted them every time. He improved his brashness all along the way with softer edges while still telling the truth and being transparent, unlike rhinos and demonrats. This office is not suppose to be a popularity contest, but should always be about the issues and how we are going to tackle and overcome them. Our economy had never been better for EVERY American, the quality of life across the globe had improved under his leadership. And this retard in office now has squandered every advantage Trump accomplished. You should go back to your country and improve it’s status quo instead of greedily taking advantage of ours and throwing your two cents in where no one asked for it!!!

I seldom reply to uneducated rants by people such as you, who clearly have no knowledge of politics, history, economics or international relations, but your comments about WW2 really do require correction.

The USA did NOTdefeat Hitler – Nazism was defeated by the Soviet Union at the cost of 16 million of her soldiers and ordinary citizens in blood-soaked battles at Kursk, Stalingrad and hundreds of other locations in Russia and Eastern Europe. You are probably unaware that it was Russian troops who liberated Berlin, Vienna, Budapest, Warsaw, (oh, and Auschwitz!). As in WW1 the USA entered the fray late and only when the economic price was right for American business, so let’s have no mention of grand gestures by America. Also, as someone whose grandfather died on the beaches of Normandy in 1944, I feel you need to be educated that every American who laid down his life on D-Day, was matched by a Brit or a Canadian or a Frenchman.

And as for ‘greedily taking advantage’ of your supposedly strong economy, I don’t think that the 220 Americans I employ in California and Oregon would agree with you – the pay cheques I provide cover their mortgages and their healthcare.

So, I stand by my initial remarks. Trump is an amoral buffoon and a disgrace to a once proud nation. Anyone who voted him into office should hang their head in abject shame.

He wants us to believe our lives are bad because of other people, but it’s time we stop this nonsense and work together to make America Great Again. We don’t need him scamming us anymore.

Here in Australia – a group of us were watching every minute day and night as the Fraudulent Election was unfolding – we had BETS on Trump via TAB betting in OZ — we watched as BIDEN started Favourite at $1.25 for a win and Trump at $4 plus — as the election progressed we watched as Trump went to $1.25 favourite and Biden went to $4 plus under dog — We watched as one our elder statesman of Aus Politics – a FAN of the Left Biden – and hater of Trump .. very RELUCTANTLY commented with dismay that HE knows -and can see what is happening -and “TRUMP CANT LOSE NOW” was his comment to us on TV all across Australia — we were laughing that we would clean up on our bets fixed at the earlier price for Trump at $4.50 … BUT THEN — all the votes started to come in for Biden — seemed like more votes than the number actual eligible voters in USA ???– almost all for BIDEN — SO WE KNOW THE ELECTION WAS RIGGED AND THE DEMOCRATS CHEATED — we just haven forgotten or convinced ourselves with PERSONAL BIAS that it didnt happen – so you can fool yourselves Lefties and the Media can support you with LIES but you dont fool us HONEST COMMON SENSE PEOPLE – we witnessed it – we saw – it we know it !!!!

I sent $ to AMAC at the start of it for membership. I never received anything. I later received another advertisement asking me to join. I sent it back and sent a copy of my cancelled check showing where I had paid. Nothing….haven’t ever heard from them again. They are $42 richer and I am $42 poorer and that’s a lot of money to a retired person. Some of you may have had a good experience with this organization but I have not. They are either crooks or very disorganized.
